Selected work
A few things Iāve worked on
Enterprise software transformation
01 Ā· CHALLENGE
An Australian Government reform imposed fixed delivery dates the business hadnāt set and wasnāt used to working to. There was no established structure for shipping to a hard external deadline, and the organisation had to scramble to respond.
02 Ā· APPROACH
Turned an immovable deadline into a plan. Worked backward from the imposed dates to map what had to happen, and when. Built a risk register and decision log to surface problems early, not after theyād already derailed something. Set a regular meeting and communication cadence that kept product, technology and customer teams moving in lockstep under pressure.
03 Ā· OUTCOME
- Delivered on every set date
- Managed calm delivery under significant pressure
- Proved the business needed a permanent release function, directly leading to the release management capability built afterwards
- Established governance now used as a model for deadline-driven work
Building a release operations model for enterprise SaaS
01 Ā· CHALLENGE
Releases happened without a consistent, cross-functional process, so the wider business found out after the fact rather than being part of getting there. That left teams reactive to release readiness instead of ahead of it.
02 Ā· APPROACH
Built a release framework from the ground up, working iteratively across teams at very different levels of process maturity. Created shared context on roles, dependencies and accountability rather than imposing a single template.
03 Ā· OUTCOME
- Delivered the organisationās largest release to date
- Quality gates and customer education materials ready ahead of launch
- Every internal team knew what was shipping before customers did, a first for the business
- Repeatable framework now used for ongoing releases
Operational improvement & workflows
01 Ā· CHALLENGE
At a technology scale-up, the web platform team hadnāt yet matured to match the pace of the businessās growth, and there was no established governance or ways of working to build on. A new, high-performing team needed to be established to close that gap.
02 Ā· APPROACH
Built the function and the teamās ways of working at the same time, from scratch. Met with stakeholders across the business to understand what they needed from this team and how it could help them deliver their own work, then shaped governance around that, not the other way around.
03 Ā· OUTCOME
- Became one of the highest-performing teams in the business
- Shifted from an executing team to a strategy partner
- Involved earlier in the right conversations, improving the quality of the work
- Developed several team members into more senior roles and lateral moves
How I think about the work
Creating clarity, building confidence.
I believe good delivery starts with clarity. When people understand where theyāre heading, why it matters, and how they contribute, better decisions happen naturally.
š Process should help, not get in the way
Iām interested in building ways of working that make life easier, not adding process for the sake of it. I believe great systems should be invisible until you need them. When delivery is working well, people arenāt talking about the process; theyāre focused on solving problems and creating value.
š The best outcomes come through collaboration
Some of the most rewarding work Iāve done has been bringing different teams together around a shared goal and creating alignment across different perspectives.
āļø Thereās always room to improve
Iām naturally curious and enjoy finding small, meaningful ways to help teams work better, one step at a time.
Staying curious, growing intentionally
Every role, project and conversation teaches me something new.
Scaling without losing simplicity
As organisations grow, Iām interested in how we introduce enough structure to create clarity and consistency without slowing people down. Read more
How do we create confidence through clarity?
The more I work with teams, the more Iāve realised confidence rarely comes from having all the answers. It comes from understanding the direction, the purpose, and what success looks like. Read more
Learning through creating
Outside of work, I co-founded Producing Paradise with Jess Allison. We create digital products, templates and educational content focused on productivity, organisation and sustainable ways of working. Itās reinforced a lesson I keep coming back to: understanding your audience and communicating with clarity matters, whether youāre designing software, improving a process or telling a story.
